By the Bastern Route at Taloo there would be water communi-
cation with part of the Tung Hoi District, and possibly by stear
launch with villages on the North shore of Virs bey. A launch has
been running between Sha Tin, Im Tin and Sha u Chung, carrying up
to 50 passengers but it has now stopped owing to a prosecution for
carrying an excess nurber of passengers.
The rain villages of the Sha Tau Kok district would also
connect with either route at Sheung Shui or Star Chun by a road
about 7 mies in isngth. The population affected ceing about 5,500.
Many persons from the Sha tau Kok district at present travel to mong
Kone by the Shan Chun Launches.
